Wikileaks - The Movie

Wikileaks - The Movie

So man, I can't wait for the Oscars in 2013 when Steven Spielberg goes up and accepts his award for Wikileaks - The Movie
Steven Spielberg buys rights to WikiLeaks: The Movie
Steven Spielberg has reportedly secured the rights to two books which he intends to turn into a film about WikiLeaks.

WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War on Secrecy and Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website are to be used as the basis for a movie about the whistleblowing website and its founder Julian Assange.

Inside WikiLeaks was penned by former executive of the website Daniel Domscheit-Berg, while the latter was written by two Guardian journalists, David Leigh and Luke Harding.

Spielberg is just one of the DreamWorks associates, who also include Holly Bario and Mark Sourian, tackling the project, which is so far without a writer or director.

However, comparisons are already being made to All The Presidents Men, based on the Watergate scandal, and The Social Network, which Aaron Sorkin adapted from the book The Accidental Billionaires, Deadline reports.

Alan Rusbridger, editor-in-chief of Guardian News & Media, said: 'The revelations from the unprecedented leak of diplomatic cables have transformed the journalistic landscape forever.

'WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War On Secrecy is a gripping account of the events which led to Cablegate and will make for a thrilling film.'

Assange, meanwhile, recently applied to trademark his name with the UK Intellectual Property Office, claiming he wants exclusive use of the name for public speaking, journalism and entertainment services, among other things.

I can't wait for Ron Howard to direct it, starring Tom Hanks as Julian Assange, and it having some really heavy handed musical score making you want to eat a bullet. And since we're in the future here, let's look at the trailer

Yeah. Remember when he bought the rights to a Lindberg movie but then had to drop the project altogether because he didn't realize Lindberg was a nazi? Yeah..

Though Spielberg has to be some sort of CIA backed person and the movie will just be another step in diluting and confusing Wikileaks as anything but a terrorist act against this fine nation of ours.

It's going to be like the Bourne movies but with people sitting around computers for 2 hours doing jack shit. I also wouldn't be surprised if it is revealed that Assange is some sort of Alien. Forget the whole rapist thing, it's all about changing him into some freaky alien that Spielberg seems to be crazy about.

Speaking of which, where the fuck is those Bank wikileaks that were promised? I need to see in paper how much wellsfargo is fucking its customers over daily.

So yeah... another shitty movie.
