Terrorist Attack Incoming?

Terrorist Attack Incoming?

With 9/11 just a day away, it seems that there's a 'credible 9/11 terror threat.

US officials have said they are investigating a credible but unconfirmed threat of a terror attack, reportedly involving bomb-laden vehicles ahead of this weekend's 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

"There is specific, credible but unconfirmed threat information," the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement on Thursday.

"We have taken, and will continue to take all steps necessary to mitigate any threats that arise," the department added in a statement.

Law enforcement sources said a manhunt was under way for two or three suspects, the Reuters news agency reported.

I can imagine a bunch of terrorist sitting in a boardroom, sipping sparkling water and talking about how "It's our tenth anniversary, guys! Let's do something special!"

All I have to say is than god that 9/11 is on a Sunday this year so that I can sleep through it with ease. It's bad enough that the last week leading up toward it has been the most played out bullshit around about how our innocence was lost and how 9/10/01 was the last normal day.

It's no doubt that millions of people think Al Qaeda chose 9/11 because it's the emergency response number. When in fact they choose it because that was the best deal on Travelocity. Orbitz.com, your one stop source for geopolitical murder opportunities.

In the last 10 years I don't recall there ever being an instance like this one where a credible 9/11 terror threat card was played. So it seems to me that this is either for show or it's the first time in ever that we're going to face a threat big enough that they felt the need to warn people. Which is really odd for them to offer up information to anyone.

In all truth, I'm not worried about this credible threat. If anything, I'd be more worried about incredible threats like The Hulk.

It seems that the terrorist are going to interrupt our football games. Which I guess would be reason enough for most Americans to turn Afghanistan into glass. But perhaps I'm more welcoming of the attack. Here's hoping that they blow up the patriots. Fuck You Tom Brady!

This all seems like an excuse to beef up security fees in this already tough economy. Gotta make sure that your retired policeman/ex-marine security force gets those extra hours. Just look at this stuff.
Raymond Kelly, New York's police commissioner, said he was increasing patrols and the towing of illegally parked cars.
Why yes, we're dying for Obama's parking ticket profits. This is a funny little story
In late 2002, CIA officers at Guantanamo Bay reportedly rented the 1998 Roland Emmerich flick "Godzilla." The film had largely failed to engage the interest of even the most explosion-happy action fans, but the agents were not looking to be entertained. Abu Zubaydah, a high-ranking al Qaeda operative, had confessed to them under interrogation that the terrorist organization had made plans to blow up "the bridge in the Godzilla movie." Had the officers been familiar with the movie they would have known he was talking about the Brooklyn Bridge.
Hey, check it out. We're getting paid to watch a really bad movie. Which I guess sums up the post 9/11 security forces pretty much in a nutshell right there.

What is really scary is that there will be registered voters in this next election who have been inculcated with War on Terror rhetoric since the impressionable young age of 7.
